I work in real-world environments where moments aren’t staged and nothing repeats. Moving between film and photography, my goal is to capture the weight of a moment before trying to shape it. I’m interested in what happens when you stay present long enough to actually see it.
I grew up in North Carolina with roots tied to the Appalachian region, something that continues to shape how I see people, place, and atmosphere. I’m drawn to environments with texture, history, and unpredictability.
I studied at UNC Chapel Hill, where I started building a foundation in documentary storytelling. My work has been recognized by PBS North Carolina and the Hearst Journalism Awards, but more importantly, it pushed me toward a way of working that values observation over control.
Whether I’m documenting a person, a space, or a live performance, my focus is on capturing what’s real as it unfolds.
